Gakkou Gurashi Episode 6 - Review/Reaction
This post contains spoilers. Please do not read if you're not following the anime.
So, today on the 6th episode of MoeTown Zombies school version, we have yet another shocking twist in the story. I was wondering why Megu-nee was missing from the anime visuals (example, the one above), now I know why
. Honestly, I wasn't expecting that our crack addict Yuki would have cooked up Megu-nee's hallucination as well (cocaine is a hell of a drug after all). So that whole revelation came as a shock for me when Miku asked "Who is the heck is Megu-nee?" I gotta give this show praise for it's unexpected twists and turns. First the episode one and now this. Good job there studio Lerche. Speaking of plot twists, I wonder if the dog is going to die soon. (He didn't even make it past two chapters in the manga)

So far, the series has been able to hold me with all its twists and turns and I really like that they took their time with all the back stories for the sake of character development. But the real thing starts now. Are they just going to live like this? Or is something going to happen? Maybe zombies break in through the barriers in the middle of the day and everyone has to run for their lives and we get to see someone die? For now, I'm just glad that this didn't turn out like the Walking Dead because I'd hate to see these girls betraying/trying to kill each other. But I really wonder what course of action our highschool girls are going to take. (Or is this just going to be a survival story with a BS asspull in the end saving everyone)

The episode was nice considering that almost all the backstories are now wrapped up except the silent monster Yuuri aka Rii-san. Well she was already on the rooftop when the whole thing happened so I guess she can only reminisce about her friends and family. I like the fact that we only know just as much as the characters do about what's going on outside or if any help whatsoever is going to come or how the whole thing started. This giant hole in our knowledge helps add to the whole mystery of the show. But now after episode 6, I do expect at least some sort of resolution into this matter, else I am going to be really pissed if this whole moe routine is just going to continue with no end/plot progression in sight.

With the twists that I have witnessed so far, I have no idea on what's going to happen next in this series. And that's a good thing and a potentially bad thing as well. A good thing because, I have all this mystery and suspense to look forward to, but on the other hand, I can't bring myself to really recommend this anime yet because I don't really have a good grip on the show so far. Also, the mystery drastically raises the expectations for the next episode so I wonder if they're going to be able to meet them or not. At least for now, I am enjoying this series because of how different it is in terms of it's genre mix and the story. The plot progressions from here on out will determine if this anime is good or not. So, let's see how this goes. And last but not the least, Kurumi should just give Yuki a good strong pat on the head with that shovel and maybe then she'll snap out of it! Also, R.I.P. Megu-nee, you'll be barely noticed.
